REVIEWING INQUIRY WIKI SERIES

A developing, self directed resource for schools, to cooperatively reflect on INQUIRY learning, its effectiveness, and how it is developing throughout the school. The keywords used to focus these reflections come from the Galileo Educational Network.

This resource is flexible. It's aim is to promote school based discussion with staff, and community, using a series of carefully selected and developed activities and resources.

The eight inquiries all follow a similar general format.

INQUIRY KEY WORD: (such as Authenticity, Assessment…)
This page gives a brief interpretation of the big idea, then has a series of general discussion starters.
These are in no particular order.

They are intended as wall quotes, staff meeting thought provokers, parent debate topics and the like. Not all statements necessarily align with each other.

READINGS
Selected readings, (in document form), with a range of ‘deepness.’ These have brief annotations and sometimes links to and from.

Some readings are discussion extracts, often with starter questions.

RESOURCES
There are always some video clips, (often from outside education), that are designed to stimulate staff/parent discussion. Starter question possibilities are provided.

Some resources are in the form of original activities whose purpose is indicated.
They too have starter discussion questions.

HOW ARE WE DOING?
Documentation is currently being developed to make this area a data base for schools leading to discussion and action. This will use survey templates, an example of which is to be found on the AUTHENTICITY wiki. Schools would make their own appropriate templates.

In the APPROPRIATE USE OF ICT wiki, the “how are we doing?” is a series of lens with which to think about ICT.

Some areas have other headings in addition to those listed above.
